Piriformis syndrome is a condition that causes pain, that starts from the lower back and buttock region. Tightness or swelling in the piriformis muscle can also irritate the nearby (sciatic nerve) causing pain, numbness and tingling along the back of the thigh, down the calf and also into the foot.
I have been treating patients for Sciatic Nerve pain for years now. The best results have been when clients follow up my Myotherapy consultation with these simple but effective stretches. The idea is to to them lightly but regularly. Also your posture is an important factor for your recovery.
Yes, I am a nuisance to my clients when they come in, telling them to make sure they do their stretches I give them, but this is the only way to get on top of the pain.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
